Learning Clean Language can change how you think, talk, and collaborate, amplifying your awareness and capability.
At Clean in Montana, you'll join Clean Language expert Dr. Caitlin Walker and facilitators Emily Stifler Wolfe and Erin Randall for an immersive learning experience in the heart of the northern Rockies.
You’ll learn the foundations of Clean Language, practice with Clean Questions and Systemic Modeling, and leave with tools to help people work together better.
“I left with confidence — a piece of gold in my back pocket.”
                                                  – Kathy Vega, 2025 participant
Over three days, you’ll learn a method for listening, asking, and responding that helps people think for themselves and each other. And you’ll gain skills and frameworks you can use immediately to:
-
Build trust and accountability
 -
Reduce friction and misunderstanding
 -
Hold space for creativity and collaboration
 -
Strengthen your ability to lead through change

Past participants have applied tools and insights from Clean in Montana to lead team meetings, facilitate workshops, teach students, coach executives, and communicate across difference — in business, education, community, and beyond.
About Caitlin Walker & Systemic Modeling
Caitlin Walker, PhD, is a pioneer in Clean Language and the creator of Systemic Modeling, a framework that helps groups use Clean Language to learn from one another, resolve conflict, and collaborate meaningfully. Her work has influenced universities, corporations, and community organizations worldwide. You can learn more about her work in her book, From Contempt to Curiosity, her TED Talk, or on the Drama-Free Culture podcast.
About the Organizers: Emily & Erin
Emily Stifler Wolfe is a facilitator and coach working with leaders and teams who are shaping systems — things like land, food, money, and community. Through her podcast, Food, Montana, she explores how local and regional food systems intersect with other levers of change and power. As a former journalist and mountain rescuer, she is all about clear communication and teamwork.
Erin Randall is a veteran systems coach working with universities, pharmaceutical companies, fintechs, mining companies, and more. She listens for what is emerging in people and systems, helping to make change bearable, sustainable, and even enjoyable. But mostly, she is all about happy people doing great work. You can find her at Ad Meliora Coaching.
Why We're in Montana
Bozeman is a small city in southwest Montana, about 90 minutes north of Yellowstone National Park. A popular destination, Bozeman has a hip, historic downtown and easy access to outdoor adventure. The snowmelt that flows from the surrounding 11,000-foot peaks become the mighty Missouri River, the longest in the country. Other Montana waters flow to the Pacific and the Hudson Bay. Likewise, the ideas we develop together at Clean in Montana will flow elsewhere. Montana is a headwaters state — for water and ideas, both. What we do over these three days matters.
